The Weekend Interview

                      Many may not see the weekend as a good opportunity to engage in the job searching process. A lot of businesses close over the weekend, and if they don't, their Human Resources department most likely are taking a break. However, do franchises hire you? Do HR departments? Does a customized resume land you the job? On a larger scale, maybe. But think of it this way: People hire you.

                    

                     The barbecue, the summer wedding, or a simple outing to a restaurant can be the perfect opportunity to connect with people. Use your leisure events as an opportunity to network in the field of IT and explore your next reference. 

Network with people you encounter on your weekend events, you would be surprised how much they are willing to share!

• Conduct a casual interview
• Share your experience with New Horizons of North Florida and your goals in the IT Field
• Ask how the IT department is handled at the workplace of your friends and family
• Share the knowledge you have already gathered and your professional experience 
• Gather names and numbers of new contacts and network with them on how they can help. Do they have friends involved in the field? What about connections in businesses that do have IT needs?
• Continue your connections through Social Media like LinkedIn, periodic e-mail, or a call.
